The Shapleigh School's friends from Japan are visiting Kittery from April 25-30, and are taking part in many activities during their stay. After arriving to the Seacoast Friday evening and meeting their host families, 13 Japanese students explored the Seacoast and learned about our culture. Monday marked a full day of activities at the Shapleigh School, highlighted by the morning's Welcoming Assembly. In addition, Japanese students performed five separate cultural presentations to every Shapleigh student, teaching us about Japanese way of life.

On Tuesday, the Japanese students will spend the morning with their Shapleigh host students attending classes, then visit Traip Academy for a tour of the high school and lunch. After returning to Shapleigh for the final class of the day Tuesday afternoon, the Shapleigh Japan Club will host a farewell party for all of our Japanese visitors. Wednesday wraps things up with the Sayonara Assembly at Shapleigh, beginning at 9am.
