Thanksgiving Food Drive To Begin Monday

posted Nov 2, 2017, 8:30 AM by Seth Cole
Shapleigh School's annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, in partnership with Kittery Baskets, will take place from November 6-17. Students will race to stack as much food as possible to support local families for the upcoming holiday. The top three grades who collect the most food will be awarded with a fun prize!

Each grade will be collecting two types of Thanksgiving non-perishable food. Kittery Baskets, partnering with Footprints, will then build holiday food baskets for local families.

Fourth grade: canned pumpkin (pie filling) and pie crust mix (dry mix only)
Fifth grade: canned green beans and fried onions
Sixth grade: cream of mushroom soup and choice of canned peas, carrots, or corn
Seventh grade: boxed mashed potatoes and canned cranberry sauce
Eighth grade: boxed stuffing and canned gravy

Thank you to eighth grade social studies teacher Heidi Ayotte, art teacher Aimee Sutherland, and a team of eighth graders for helping organize this year's Thanksgiving Food Drive!
