Sumsion, Bowen Join Shapleigh Staff

Nelsa Sumsion (left) and Agnes Bowen have recently joined the Shapleigh School staff as long-term substitute teachers. Sumsion is filling in for Corrine Gagnon teaching seventh grade science, while Bowen is substituting for Lauren Roy teaching sixth grade language arts.Both Corrine and Lauren are on maternity leave, and expected to be back in the spring.

Sumsion earned her teaching certificate in elementary education from Washington state. Her family (which includes a fifth grader and an eighth grader at Shapleigh) recently moved to Kittery from Japan.

Bowen rejoins the staff after spending many years teaching sixth grade language arts at Shapleigh. Most recently, she served as a long-term sub in fourth grade in the fall of 2015.
