Ten Shapleigh School students - two from each grade level- participated in the school-wide National Geographic Geography Bee on Tuesday after school in the Music Room. Students from throughout the school have prepared for the Geography Bee in the last month, and classroom geography bees have been conducted in each social studies class (and each fourth grade classroom teacher has conducted their own geography bee). At the end of this process, teachers selected two students from each grade level.

The winner of the Shapleigh School geography bee was eighth grader Henry Miller, and he now advances to the next round, a written test. If he passes this test, Henry then advances to the State Geography Bee, at a date soon to be announced.

Second place went to fellow eighth grader Jeremy Clifford, with seventh grader Sydney Auclair and fourth grader Conor McPherson tied for third place. Other participants included: seventh grader Cameron Brayne, sixth graders Will Davis and Claire Barbour, fifth graders Mia Matrazzo and Kevin Kulyk, and fourth grader Jack Hawkins.
