The Shapleigh School was blessed once again to have more than a dozen Japanese students - along with a handful of staff members - visit Kittery for several days as part of the Home-Stay School program that exists between the two school districts. Our visitors from Aomori, Japan (the Tobu Kamikita Education Research Council) experienced a fun and educational three days at the Shapleigh School, beginning with Monday's Welcome Assembly and ending with Wednesday's Sayonara Assembly. Also, the Japanese students performed several cultural presentations, teaching Shapleigh students and staff about such things as Sport Day, calligraphy, and various Japanese games and customs.

A big thank you goes to Shapleigh sixth grade teacher Doreen Carson, the coordinator of the Japanese Home-Stay Program, and other program coordinators and supporters.
