Shapleigh Students Shine At Holiday Concert

Hundreds of Shapleigh School students helped ring in the holiday season at the annual Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 13 in the Shapleigh Gymnasium. Fourth and fifth grade students performed first, singing such songs as "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" under the direction of chorus director Jayne Segedy, and playing songs including the classic "Hot Cross Buns" under the guidance of band director Jon Roth. after an intermission, the 6-8th grade band and chorus students took stage. The Shapleigh Jazz Sharks began by performing three songs, finishing with "A Jazzy Merry Christmas",then  the sixth grade chorus sung four songs, ending with "Sleigh Ride". The sixth grade band then played three songs, ending with "Carol of the Bells", and the 7-8th grade chorus performed four holiday classics, ending with "How Can I Keep From Singing?" with solos from Isabell Satenstein, Quintillion's. McPherson and Madeline Pitcairn. Finally, the 7-8th grade band played four songs, with "All is Calm" featuring Noelle Denholm and Jade Gilman.
