Shapleigh's Showcase Of Learning A Huge Success!

The Shapleigh School held its annual Showcase of Learning on Thursday, May 14. Hundreds of students, family members, and Shapleigh staff were throughout the building celebrating the learning that took place during the last eight months. Some of the learning on display included:

Grade Four (4-5pm)

  • Featuring ‘Author’s Tea for Non-Fiction Writing’ & ‘Highlights from the Academic Year’ in homerooms

Grade Five (5-6pm)

  • Featuring a ‘Poetry Cafe’ and 'Fifth Grade Jeopardy'

Grade Six (6-7pm)

  • Featuring ‘Seabots’ in Mr. Cady’s room, ‘Student Activism Books’ in Mrs. Roy’s room, ‘Canadian Tour Guides’ in Mrs. Long-Broughton’s room, ‘Shelters’ in Mr. Bertrand’s room

Grade Seven (7-8pm)

  • Featuring ‘Science Elements Maps’ in the 7th grade hallway, ‘Country Report Boards’ in homerooms & ‘Career Research’, ‘Resume’ and ‘Budget Graphs’ in homerooms

Grade Eight (7-8pm)

  • Featuring ‘8th Grade Celebration of Learning’: Student Portfolios and Speeches in the Cafeteria

Related Arts (4-8pm)

  • 4th Grade ‘Artwork Display’ on the bulletin board outside, 5th Grade ‘Drums Alive’ presentation in the gymnasium, 6th Grade ‘Band Compilation Video’ in the cafeteria, 7th Grade ‘Sketch Up Automobile Designs Slideshow’ in the technical education room, 8th Grade ‘Environmental Health Project’ in the health room
