Students at the Shapleigh School have been reading feverishly in the last two months, and the results are evident in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. The school has risen approximately 400 spots, and is now in 148th place amongst more than 3,000 registered schools throughout the country! As of August 14 at 2:45 p.m., 221 Shapleigh students had read for a combined 108,641 minutes (nearly 500 minutes per student, or more than eight hours!) The rising sixth graders are narrowly in the lead, followed closely by the rising eighth graders and rising seventh graders. The 20 schools with the most minutes will be featured in the 2013 Scholastic Book of World Records. For more information, visit http://www.scholastic.com/summer/.
