Shapleigh School Awarded TangerKids Grant

posted May 15, 2014, 9:19 AM by Seth Cole
The Shapleigh School's Community Enrichment Program was one of two York County recipients of a TangerKids Grant awarded by the Tanger Outlets, it was announced earlier this week. The TangerKIDS Grants Program awards grant money to local schools in the communities where Tanger Outlet Centers are located. Traip Academy's Expanded Learning Opportunities received the other TangerKids Grant for 2014-15.

The grant of more than $500 will go to Shapleigh's Community Enrichment Program, which allows students to engage in activities that promote awareness of the Kittery/Eliot communities through in-school education and community outings. The grant assists in purchasing much needed supplies that help make the program successful.

Representatives from the Tanger Outlets were on hand on Wednesday, May 14 to present a check toprincipal Anne Ellis, and special services staff members Eva Diharce and Stephanie Holland. We are very appreciative of the Tanger Outlets and the TangerKIDS Grants Program for awarding Shapleigh's Community Enrichment Program with this financial contribution.
