Shapleigh Completes Third Year Of Biomimicry Program

posted Nov 19, 2019, 10:37 AM by Seth Cole
A group of Shapleigh School seventh and eighth graders completed "Biomimicry" - an engineering opportunity created by Tufts University - on Tuesday November 19. Students had to solve an engineering problem based on nature.  The students were challenged to create a prototype of a mechanism that could be used to remove rubble caused by natural disasters.  In order to be successful, their prototype had to move paper.

This is the third year that Shapleigh has had the opportunity to run the TERC/TUFTS created curriculum as part of their pilot of the program. For more information, visit the Tufts School of Engineering.

Thank you to Blayne Matty, Karissa Lemont and Corrine Gagnon for piloting the program.
