Shapleigh Collects Thousands For Holiday Food Drive

posted Dec 21, 2016, 8:34 AM by Seth Cole
More than 2,000 non-perishable items were collected throughout Shapleigh School during the annual Holiday Food Drive, held from December 12-20. Students, staff members, and families brought in items ranging from pasta, to peanut butter, to drinks, and even toiletries. All the donated items - 2,154 in all - were delivered to Kittery Holiday Baskets, which has provided food and gifts to those in need since 1951, and will be providing for 120 Kittery children this year! Mr. Bennington's fifth grade class collected the third-most items, Mrs. Perry's fourth grade class the second-most items, and Mrs. Sheldon's fifth-grade collected the most items, with all three of these homerooms earning a pizza party for their efforts. Thank you to all who contributed!
