Shapleigh Celebrates Maine Harvest Lunch Week

Shapleigh School, in conjunction with schools from throughout the state, is celebrating Maine Harvest Lunch Week from September 16-20, 2019. Maine's annual harvest lunch week promotes fresh, local food in school cafeterias and teaches our children and youth where food comes from – including local farms, gardens and greenhouses.

This week, Shapleigh's school nutrition program is serving the following at Shapleigh School:

Monday: cheeseburgers, Maine baked potatos, corn on the cob and local apples from Giles Farm

Tuesday: sheppard's pie, warm dinner rolls and sweet oatmeal squares

Wednesday: fried rice, egg rolls, and sweet pineapple chunks

Thursday: hot chicken and gravy, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies and warm dinner rolls

Friday: pizza variety and fresh fruit choice.
