Seventh Grade Visits Boston Museum of Fine Arts

posted Apr 27, 2017, 11:09 AM by Seth Cole
Shapleigh School seventh graders spent the day on Thursday, April 27 exploring the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. While there, students took a "Discovering the MFA Tour", providing students with a cross-cultural approach to art. Students explored a variety of objects from across the Museum’s major collection areas, in different media throughout the ages. Students also looked closely and discussed works of art in a fun and engaging way.

After that, students toured the museum in their small groups with their school chaperones, checking out exhibits they were interested in looking at more in depth, like the ancient Egypt wing (mummies!) or European art (Picasso! Van Gogh!). This trip has become an annual tradition for seventh graders at Shapleigh as a fun way to gain knowledge about art, art history and culture.
