Seventh Grade Hosts Inaugural Probability Fair

posted May 14, 2018, 11:01 AM by Seth Cole
Shapleigh School seventh grade students ended their Probability Unit with a Probability Fair on Wednesday, May 9. All seventh graders
created a carnival inspired game, which were to be based strictly off chance, not skill. After analyzing whether their game was made of independent or dependent events, and calculating the theoretical probabilities of different situations happening while their game was played, it was time to put them to the test!  With the help of many fourth and fifth grade students and teachers, the seventh graders collected experimental data and finally reflected on how their game measured up to what theoretically should have happened!  Lots of wonderful projects and hard work.  What a day to see learning in action!
