The Shapleigh School and literacy teacher Miranda Casey have announced two contests to take place throughout April. April is Poetry Month, and the school will hold its third annual Poetry Contest. The contest is open to all Shapleigh School students. Students must submit original poems, and students can submit as many poems as they would like. The three categories for the poetry contest are: Haiku (5-7-5 syllable pattern, must be a haiku about a book); Humorous Rhyming Poem (think Shel Silverstein-ish); and Free Verse (anything goes). All entries due to Mrs. Casey by 2pm on Friday May 1.

The other April contest is the fourth annual Peeps Diorama Contest. Also open to all Shapleigh School students, recreate a scene from your favorite children's or young adult book as a diorama using the Peeps of your choice. All entries must be delivered to Mrs. Casey on Friday, April 10 or Monday, April 13. No late entries will be eligible for the contest. Entries will be on display at the school until Friday, May 1.

Please see the attached PDFs for more information. Have fun, and best of luck!

See below for all student Peeps Diorama entries from this year - congrats students!
