posted Mar 26, 2012, 8:13 AM by Seth Cole
Students from both the Shapleigh School and the Mitchell School combined for six top-three finishes at Saturday's Odyssey of the Mind state tournament in Wells. The highlight of the day was the Shapleigh School's first place finishes in the "Weird Science" competition for both Division I and Division II. In the "Ooh-Motional Vehicle" competition, the Shapleigh School placed second in Division II and third in Division I, while the Mitchell School claimed second place in Division I in the "To Be Or Not To Be" contest, and third place in Division I in the "Balsa/You Make The Call) competition.

The tournament, which attracted approximately 1,200 students from across the state, is part of an international problem solving competition that asks students to come up with the most creative solutions to various problems. All teams that finished in first or second place advance to the world finals, to be held in Iowa this summer. Congratulations to all of Kittery's successful Odyssey of the Mind participants!
