Seventh and eighth graders at the Shapleigh School who are age 13 and older are encouraged to take part in the "What's Your Story?" Internet Safety Contest. "What's Your Story?" is a user-generated video contest that empowers youth to be leaders in educating others about the safe and responsible use of the Internet. It is designed to give them a voice in the solution while showcasing a positive use of social media. In its third year, the contest is unique in that it requires participants to create a message for others and also spread that message to others online.

The contest asks anyone 13 and older to create and submit a video on one of the following:

1. Take action against bullying: How would you help a friend being bullied online?
2. Keep a good rep online: What?s the right way to share?
3. Be cell smart: How can someone new to cell phones use it wisely?

For parents, "What's Your Story" is a great way to engage kids about using technology wisely.

For educators, "What's Your Story" is an effective curriculum enhancer using student led, project-based learning to educate students about important issues concerning the responsible use of technology.

The Grand Prize is 10,000 USD and 6 Runner-up prizes of $1000 each will be awarded.  For more information and deadlines please go to
