Max Slabotsky, a Holocaust survivor who now lives in Portland, spoke with Shapleigh School eighth graders for nearly two hours on Tuesday, May 5. Slabotsky spoke at length about the circumstances that led to his family separating in Europe during World War II, and the torture he experienced as an adolescent in various concentration camps. Slabotsky shared with a captive audience pictures depicting the places he was held as a prisoner, and answered dozens of questions from students and adults alike.
