Fifth Grade Interviews Local Journalist

posted Jan 23, 2015, 8:37 AM by Seth Cole
Shapleigh School fifth graders had an opportunity on Friday, January 23 to interview Portsmouth (N.H.) Herald journalist and Kittery native Jesse Scardina. Students - wearing their "official" press passes - asked Scardina questions on a variety of topics, such as why he became a journalist, what he'd change about his job, and even how he got the name "Jesse". In addition, Scardina spoke to the students about what makes a good journalist, tips for effective writing, and the benefits of pursuing your passion in college. Scardina - a Kittery native who attended the Shapleigh School and Traip Academy - spent nearly two hours with the students. Thank you Mr. Scardina for taking the time to meet with our fifth graders!
