Shapleigh School sixth graders - along with student visitors from Southern Maine and the Seacoast of New Hampshire - participated in CSI Camp-For-A-Day on Thursday, May 22. Crime Scene Investigation Camp-For-A-Day is offered by the Caruth Institute for Engineering Education at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in partnership with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC).

This program offered students and teachers the opportunity to interact with CSI professionals from their community and to engage in hands-on activities oriented around the framework of solving a crime.

Kittery was chosen as one of eight military-connected communities around the country to take part in CSI Camp-For-A-Day. Other locations have included Colorado Springs, Virginia Beach and Fort Hood, Texas.

All campers were able to take home a CSI workbook and a bag that includes a calculator, a ruler, pens and an invisible ink pen. In addition, at the end of the day all campers will have an enlarged print of their fingerprint on a sticker.
