Covid-19 Update - Superintendent's Office - 3/24/2020

posted Mar 24, 2020, 9:18 AM by Seth Cole

Good day Kittery...this is Eric calling from the Superintendent's Office.  I hope you are all doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances.  I wanted to give you an update today on our status in the midst of the current Coronavirus pandemic.  The Governor is urging Maine schools to expand the current school shutdown.  As a result, the Kittery School District will not resume classroom-based instruction until Monday, April 27th.  Even then, I predict that it may take far longer than that to resume business as usual.  Of course, this situation changes by the day; if our status changes here in the School District, I will be sure to keep you informed.

Our staff is hard at work to ensure that our students receive an engaging remote learning experience and that our families feel supported by their teachers, special educators, and support staff.  If that is not the case, I urge you to reach out to your student's principal.  Strong communication is key, and even though we are not all under the same roof right now, we can communicate as though we are.

Enjoy your day!
