The Shapleigh School will be celebrating Computer Science Education Week
December 9-13 with a week full of activities. CSEdWeek is an annual program
dedicated to showing K-12 students the importance of computer science
education, and is o
rganized by the Computing in the Core coalition and the non-profit organization Code.org.

The hallmark event of CSEdWeek is "The Hour of Code", which introduces computer science to students throughout the world. Shapleigh students are part of more than four million students in over 160 countries who will participate in next week's activities.

All five grade levels at the Shapleigh School will celebrate next week, with many activities planned. Students in grades 6-8 will hear from local computer science guru Wayne Moulton, who will demonstrate several fun projects. Students will also hear from experts within the Kittery School Department, parents with careers in computer science, and witness a demonstration by Shapleigh's Lego Robotics team. The week will culminate with an all-school assembly on Friday afternoon, where a special presentation will take place.
