Shapleigh School fifth grader Angelina Murdock was named Shapleigh School's Rotary Club of Kittery's Student of the Month for May, it was recently announced. Murdock was honored at the Rotary's monthly Student of the Month Breakfast, held at Kittery Estates, on Tuesday, May 23.

Some quotes from staff about Angie:

"Angie is so thoughtful of others.... an example: when she found out her bus driver was going through a tough time with family, she gave her a Dunkin Donuts' gift basket that she had won in a raffle. She wanted to find a way to support her and selflessly reached out on her own!"

"Angie volunteered to help me clean out my closet and my desk and is always polite and friendly. She is generous and thoughtful with both kids and adults."

"Enthusiastic is a defining characteristic of Angie's time with the fifth grade band.  After starting on flute, she discovered that her passion was in the percussion section and she has made a quick transition that already has her playing on the drums and mallets with expertise.  I look forward to watching and listening to her skills grow in the years to come!"
